I love the feeling of the Balsamic Moon … deep, intuitive, soothing, calming, restorative, curative.
Part of me just wants to snuggle into a big comfy couch with my blankie, a cup of tea and a good book. My soul work for this lunar journey is (mostly) done … and there is still time for deep contemplation and perhaps one more release before we head back to the womb of the New Moon and rebirth a new journey.
Every day, I pick up Embers: One Ojibway’s Meditations by Richard Wagamese and select a page at random… a little bibliomancy to start the day and inspire my reflections.
Today’s page (it was page 133 if you have the book ) was perfect for the Balsamic Moon and describes so well — for me at least — the power of releasing.
I have captured part of that page in the image above. Here is the full text:
“Life is sometimes hard. There are challenges. There are difficulties. There is pain. As a younger man, I sought to avoid pain and difficulty and only caused myself more of the same. These days, I choose to face life head-on — and I have become a comet. I arc across the sky of my life and the hard times are the friction that shaves off the worn and tired bits. The more I travel head-on, the more I am shaped, and the things that no longer work or are unnecessary drop away. It’s a good way to travel. I believe eventually I will wear off resistance, until all that’s left of me is light.”
Yes….this is what I want… this is how I will travel…. until all that’s left of me is light.
