Meditation takes many forms and each of us can create our own meditative practice — walking, sitting, practising yoga, some work in stillness, others with singing bowls or music — but what is key is the creation of sacred space, the connection to Self and Spirit, being in the flow, the listening . . . being with our experience.

I’ve always appreciated this quote which embodies how I experience meditation. As to source, it is usually described as a “Native American Proverb”, although I have yet to find an original attribution to the tribal or First Nation origin.

Listen to the wind, it talks.

Listen to the silence, it speaks.

Listen to your heart, it knows.

What do you hear when you listen from your heart and soul?
