Blessings on the final New Moon of the astronomical Winter season (Winter Solstice to Spring Equinox) in the Northern Hemisphere and astronomical Summer Season in the Southern Hemisphere (Summer Solstice to Autumn Equinox).

This is our final new moon before the March Equinox, a time of global equality, parity and balance, and the beginning of a new solar season: Spring for those north of the Equator, and Autumn for those south of the Equator. In March we also celebrate International Women’s Day and many countries celebrate March as Women’s History Month. There is a lot happening this month so this newsletter is a packed with even more information!

New Moon Energies

I love the energy that a new moon brings. For me, they are like a telescope allowing me to look far ahead to see how my goals will manifest and what changes they might bring into my life. And yet they are also like a microscope that allows me to see even the smallest detail of what I might need to do to manifest those goals.

Some see the new moon as a window which can carry our deep inner thoughts to the universe itself, sending our Pisces dreams to that fertile place where the magic begins.

Pisces is a water sign, passionate, intuitive, creative, and emotional. It is associated with the goddess Aphrodite (Venus, in Roman mythology) who represents love, beauty, pleasure and procreation. Fittingly, it is a mutable sign as we move to a new astrological season, holding the energy of change and transformation, and of adaptability. With its water element at work, it nourishes our inner garden as we seed and incubate our goals.

And unlike new moon goal setting that might be fraught with complexity, lists, details, anxiety and more, this new moon in Pisces says,

“Relax, Moon Child, I offer you an oasis… an island of peace, of dreams, of wisdom, of creativity, and of the self-acknowledgement that you already have whatever it takes to complete your goals.”

Black Moons

Did you know that this month’s New Moon is quite possibly a “Black Moon” for you? When two New Moons fall within a single calendar month, they are labelled Black Moons. There is a Black Moon in 2022, but the month in which it manifests is time zone dependent:

  • Some will experience this event in March, with a new moon in Pisces on March 2nd and a new moon in Aries on the 31st in my PST timezone
  • Others will experience it in April, with New Moons on April 1st and 30th UTC (Universal Coordinated Time).
  • And the New Moon in Aries is also the beginning of a new astrological year!

Check TimeAndDate.com for the precise times of the New Moons in your locale.

What does a Black Moon mean for you?

New Moons are associated with new beginnings, new journeys and even a new perspective. And this Black Moon is rather special, as Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, and the new astrological year will begin with the New Moon in Aries on March 31st / April 1st.

You could consider this Black Moon simply as an opportunity to go even deeper into the intuitive wisdom of the new moon, or an extra oomph on your journey ahead in the new astrological year.
