Super New Moon in Pisces

How will this new moon in Pisces — with its water-y emotional intuitive and imaginative energy — inform and guide your new monthly journey with Grandmother Moon?

Ruled by Neptune (and some say Jupiter too), Pisces is a mutable sign, enhancing your adaptability and flexibility. The zodiac symbol shows two fish, each one facing a different direction, reflecting the essence of one’s inner duality and potential paths or possibilities.

Dive into the deep waters of your Wise Inner Self — or perhaps even imagine that you are shapeshifting into a fish, experiencing or meditating on what it would be like to swim weightlessly in the flow of the river or ocean, and into your own deep inner wisdom.

Pisces invites you to look beneath the surface to see what is moving below, and what is hidden. It invites you to embrace your dreams and move toward manifesting them.

This New Moon invites you to become a fisher of your dreams!

Naming the Lunar Month

At the end of the coming new lunar month, we step into the March 20th Equinox, when we experience a point of balance globally, with the day and night of roughly equal length. The Equinox also marks the astronomical beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.

These energies influence my name for the coming lunar month, as it waxes (or wanes, if south of the Equator!) towards that special date.

But there are other considerations. Here in my locale, Vancouver Canada, since Imbolg I have been strongly sensing the rising energies of Mama Earth, awakened at Winter Solstice by Father Sun. Those energies manifest in many ways. Buds are forming on trees and shrubs. The Pacific Grey Herons are returning to their nests in Stanley Park. New life is emerging from the soil, with the appearance of late winter plants such as snowdrops and crocus.

As the weather grows milder, the season of fruit blossoms is just beginning! This is one of my favourite times of the year. Each street comes into season at slightly different times, depending on the type of fruit (cherry, apple, plum) and the alchemical mix of sunshine and water that triggers each bud to burst into flower.

So, for me, this month is the Cherry Blossom Moon.

What changes are happening in your locale?

How might that inspire your name for this lunar month?
